Too many problems with all features. Especially Display Port, USB A, heat issues.I used it on iMac 27 inch 2020.Pros: Very nice package aesthetics wise. It’s build quality matches that of iMac. Unfortunately that is where pros end.Cons:1. Monitor connected to the display port near power plug flickers constantly. And I have tried it with two separate units with worse if not same results. And yes I have switched my monitors between both ports, tried with different DP cable, turned OFF and ON DP1.2, etc. But for whatever reason the monitor connected to that specific port always flickered every 9-10 seconds for a split second. Very annoying.2. I had one of the USB A ports stopped working for me on the second unit I ordered (because of issue no. 1) within two days of using it. I had my backup hard drive connected to it and all of sudden saw Time Machine error on Mac.3. I had noticed SD card inserted into the UHS-II slot heats up to uncomfortable temperatures after it had been in there for 4-5 mins. UHS-II gives the high read and write speeds though of up to 290MB/S approx. What bugged me about the customer support from Caldigit is that the flickering of monitors is very well known issue on internet. But the tech support didn’t acknowledge it at all. They constantly blamed it on bad TB3 cable, DP cable, Monitors, DP 1.2 ON/OFF, etc. I ended up returning it 3 weeks ago and still waiting for refund because the unit came from US warehouse.

Best docking station solution for USB-C/Thunderbolt.Since getting a MBP in 2016 I’ve been searching for a good hub. They’ve all had their issues, until I got the Caldigit one. It does everything they claim it does and works flawlessly on my MBP, my Surface Pro 7 and my iPad Pro. External display, USB-A ports, USB-C port, SD Card slot, audio output and power delivery – all excellent. The *only* issue I’ve had is that when plugged into this hub, the iPad Pro redirects its audio to the hub, thereby disabling the iPad speakers. And if you aren’t wearing headphones…. well, there’s no audio. However – this is an iPadOS problem and not a Hub problem. There is no ability on iPad OS to choose “iPad Speakers” when an external audio device is plugged in. Apple had no solution for me.

CalDigit USB-C Pro Dock – 85W Charging, Thunderbolt 3Works well with Linux (Ubuntu 20.04.1) on Dell XPS-15 and my new XPS-17, as well as with MacBook Pro 15. Have not tried WINDOWS, but it should work too, I am sure.It does actually charge even XPS-17 but not when it’s under a heavy load, like video rendering. Other than that it works as expected powering my 2 x 4k LG monitors at 60Hz.Thank you!

Only option, works somewhat well, but very quirky.Wanted my 2 screens, clamshell, and only one cable, so this was the only option. Ethernet port does not work, and actually breaks my home network if I try to use it. When my computer comes back from sleep, sometimes have to unplug and replug the cable because it switched the screens around, which disconnects my drive and all

One of the best, but … I would gladly return itGot this for my MBP 16″ 2019. Its driving most of the IO and 2x4k screens. In general i am happy with the unit and from what I looked at its one of the best for mac books. From pluses : design, connectors, ability to drive 2 4k screens, no driver required – just works, got SD-card reader on front panel. However its also have some issues:0. Crashing my MacBook pro 16″ with ether graphics or ethernet related issue. Display port1 has issues, its not stable. With time its just got worse. Now when MBP comes back from sleep 95% of the cases display will not wake up. in 50% of cases system will just crash trying to connect to 2 monitors. I have turned off all power saving for monitors and disable resolution adjustment upon wake up. Still its not helping at all.Contacted CalDigit, they know about the issue with Catalina and RADEON 560 related concern, but there is not fix from them.1. BMP TB3 bridge hits up a lot under load. Over 80C.2. USB-C port on the front only supports USB-C drives. I tried to connect to my AKITIO via USB-C to TB2 Apple adapter – nope. Got message back its not supported.3. my biggest concern is its ability to wakeup my 2 LG 4K screens. its only activate 1 by 90% of the time after computer goes from sleep. for dual screen would need to reconnect cable for second monitor. Its not happening all the time, but very often. after that both screens work as expected.4. event thought its connected via TB3 on my MBP, LAN interface speed is slower than on direct connect by 80-100MB/s… Not a big deal for 1Gig connection, but still.Unfortunately time to return this passed already. Still will submit for exchange at least for working unit. (1st Display port issue will be hopefully addressed).

Unit stopped working after 18 months of useUnit stopped working after 18 months of use.Pros:- 2x 4K@60Hz- Good build qualityCons:- Recurring display errors with macOS (OS wouldn’t detect the monitors correctly sometimes after waking from sleep; reboot required)- Limited to 85W charging- No support for Linux, ChromeOS

thunderbolt 3 dock works great! Provided cable a bit short.Caldigit thunderbolt 3 dock arrived this morning. Quick to setup, no drivers needed. Works great! My only complain is the provided thunderbolt 3 cable is a bit short. A bit longer would have been nice. the spec supports up to 2m of cable length. Running great. Powering my new Lenovo P1 Gen 2 work laptop with the provided 130 W power supply
