Comes in a bag…. Only.So first my review is like others that leave unethical reviews for things outta their control like when canadapost doesn’t come to the back door, rather knocks on the front door and BOOM 1 star review for the item. Thansk to those ppl for the wonderful Idea to review unethically. Firstly I’d like to mention this item came fully exposed inside a bag. Yes a bag. You might be thinking okay well a hardrive in a box (original packaging) then inside a bag, or anything widdled by children of the moon but no, it was not. Legit.. It was in a bag. My bread comes in for a more durable bag and survives. The Motherboard seen more scars then Harriet tubman building the railway. None the less I guess…. Ok so it’s here. I’ll “unbag” my hardrive that I’m going to store super important useless files on. Although suspy AF and I mean capital AF, I install it regardless. Well guess what. Mr. Bagdrive doesn’t even fire up, no status light no spins no rpms, just blank, as blank as my ex when asked why her brother shorts are on the floor. needless to say, Waste of time, waste of space waste of my life. If I could wish a world of hateful apocalypses to happen to someone it would be the ideal employee that thought a bag for a hardrive would be the deadliest idea, friday night at Amazon city. Buddy….it didn’t work okay, and I will never get back the time I wishfully thought it would.A replacement would probably be fine but you can’t replace my frustrated time and tears. Over and out, duckest of lake.-Ol Gilly
A good customer –
Great HDD Packaging is very very poorWD is my go to for spinning rust even SSD’s now too, I am almost always getting their Black line except for the NAS which has 3TB versions of these drives. Need to upgrade it and WD is still king of price/performance.First the drive is great, I wanted CMR tech (which this drive is) not SMR which is junk, there was a huge issue with the first one I received, due to the terrible packaging (come on Amazon) it shipped in just a thin bubble wrap, no foam no stands of cardboard for protection, just a cheap bag that protected nothing on the first drive I ordered, which is why it was DOA. I would have been very mad if I had not tested it and just swapped it out in my NAS (potentially breaking the RAID volume and corrupting my data). While drive failures are commonplace and nothing is for certain with electronics, this kind of packaging oversight is not acceptable. Hence my one star for packaging and -1 star for overall rating. The second drive was good same packaging (please fix this amazon) tested it before I used it for my data backups and it passed.
