these actually work.I was skeptical. It seems like almost a “cheat” way to extend USB, and anytime you try to cheat technology it just doesn’t work so well.But these work. I was able to extend USB to top floor from the basement by using cat5e already in the wall, something that would have not been possible otherwise. I’m using this to get my zwave dongle from the basement home assistant box up to a spot that is very central in the house. Buy these.

Poor Reliability / did not lastWe bought two of these units and at first thought they were working fine but had to periodically disconnect them and reattach as they would loose the connection (first thought it was the equipment they were connected to). The problem worsened over time to the point they were just useless. We replaced these with much more expensive Powered units and those have been rock solid. For the price we should not of expected much I guess and should of just spent the money up front. We do not recommend these.

Did not work for extending a USB2.0 webcam 25 feet away using Cat5e cable.I purchased this product to connect to a USB 2.0 webcam, 25 feet away. I used Cat5e cable. It did not work for the Webcam, however it did work for an USB memory stick. I tried it on 2 different laptop computers. I am probably going to return it.

Defective product!As soon as I plug into my computer, it trips my “short protection” and computer got shut off.

Didn’t work.Tried to use it to run various USB devices over a 25ft CAT5e cable. Didn’t work, PC wouldn’t recognize any of the devices plugged into it.
