Wiring??…So far so good. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because there is no wiring diagram…on the lock itself, the Positive and Negative aren’t marked so I just ended up guessing and got lucky. So for those that are curious, I have the negative being the closer to the mounting screws (blue in my pic) and the positive being the one farther away or deeper into the door jam (red in the pic). Hope this helps someone.

Using for a proof of conceptI’m using this strike plate for a proof of concept of an access control system. It seems pretty solid/heavy, and admittedly I dropped it about 4 feet on cement when opening the package, but it seems to still work perfectly. With my project as soon as I power it the strike plate unlocks. It also is very quiet and doesn’t make a loud buzz or anything, just a little *click* sound. It came with a diode to install in reverse polarity to absorb transient voltage when you remove power and the magnetic field in the coil collapses.

Good for light duty use.Over the last few years we have been installing security doors a few at a time. We have used UHPPOTE products and have been satisfied. The electric strike door lock is the only item that has fallen short of our needs. The spring that returns the striker to locked position failed and the door will not lock. If the door is closed with a little force it causes the striker to go into lock position. So out of eight strikers only one has been a problem. We are not a super high traffic area but probably more than normal. At present we are in the process of installing 20 more door security units.

Excellent product and awesome seller with great customer serviceSeller was just amazing to work with. I bought 4 of these, 3 of them worked fine but 1 was defective. I was in the middle of construction on my business so I didn’t get around to installing them for several months. When I found that one wasn’t working right I thought I was going to be out of luck, but the seller was incredible and shipped out a new one for me right away even though it had been so long. Very happy with their service! Also the product works great, it’s very well made, nice and heavy duty. Should last for a long time.

Worked for 3 months then stoppedWas great! Easy to install worked great for 3 months then screws came out and the locking bolt fell inside the door. Not from a break in just normal use. The lock was installed on our office backdoor.

Works like a charmIve used a couple of these and they work great. Easy to install, and no issues with them working. IN both my installs I had to cut the jamb to fit it, but install was a breeze and it works perfectly. If I have one complaint, its too quiet when it activates, barely audible. but that does not prevent it from working.

terrific productIf you love to program and DIY this is a terrific lock for your home. Now you can get a smart home lock for $25. I hooked mine up to some facial recognition software to unlock my door when I return from work. And much cheaper then the smart home locks from homedepot.

Works well on internal doors.Well constructed, but will not unlatch if there is any pressure on the gate. I was hoping the door would pop open when activated, but even a slight amount of pressure and it will not open on it’s own. Probably best suited for internal doors without any weather seal.
