Difficult to setup, works great once setupI had a bit of trouble getting this setup and working properly. I was just about to return it because it didn’t find the driver automatically and every manual driver update would not make it work either. I tried in device manager and with Windows update. I also tried restarting multiple times. What ended up working is in Windows update after you click search for updates there was an option below that to install optional updates. I clicked on that and the driver was there. I installed the driver, restarted, and I was then able to setup the fingerprint for Windows Hello. It’s really fast and I would say it is considerably better than the fingerprint reader on my laptop.

Good but not plug and playThe finger print works as expected (and is very fast). However it is not plug and play as mentioned. When I first plugged in the device, it mentioned drivers for this device are not available. To fix this, you have to go to Windows Update -> Optional updates -> Select Elan fingerprint drivers -> Download and install. Afterwards the device should be recognized and start working.

Fast, no issues, driver available from Windows update. The media could not be loaded.
Works excellent. Install driver from their website arcanite.jpIf you’re on Windows 10 or 11, plug it in then in Settings, click “Check for updates”, then add it from the optional updates page.

Once the right drivers are installed, this thing reads fingerprints like lightning!Needed for work to test out biometric authentication, something like this one was recommended but that was only available in the US, so I bought this one. Took some time to find the driver (it is not automatically detected and a driver loaded in Win10 – or at least not a workable driver). The right driver is on the Arcanite.jp website – download, install, bingo it works perfectly. Fastest and most accurate fingerprint reader I’ve ever experienced.

Good price for a quick finger print readerBesides the initial install issues I had encountered, the finger print reader has been functioning really well. Reading my fingerprint was instant. At first, I thought it couldn’t read my prints accurately since I had to press it in a specific way. If it requires more than one try, your initial fingerprint setup was not done properly. I also suggest using a USB extension (with a port on top) to access the reader easily.

A Great Fingerprint Reader once you figure out how to installAfter I googled the install procedure, I found the fingerprint reader extremely easy to install on my Windows 10 desktop PC. It works flawlessly so far. My only complaint is that the product comes with zero installation instructions. Other than that omission, I have no hesitation recommending this fingerprint reader. And the price was excellent.

Plug N PlayGot this today. Am on Windows 10 20H2. It seems to be truly plug n play now. Windows automatically installed the drivers and I went straight to Settings/Accounts/Sign In Options/Windows Hello Fingerprint for setup. Easy peasy. Now a person in the household who is tech-challenged can easily sign in.

It quit working after 2 monthsIt worked great for 2 months, the easiest access to my computer I have ever experienced. After 2 months of operation it quit, the computer won’t even recognize a device has been plugged in, no detection of any kind. I’ve tried every single usb port on my computer and laptop: nothing. It is dead. SO, great product, for as long as it works. The price is adequate, but 2 months life span makes it VERY expensive for what I got.

Works well with windowsPicked one of these up for a disabled relative, this made it much easier for them to log into their Win. 11 system. Picked up a usb extension with a weighted end, and the can apply touch this to log in.
