DEFINITELY, when you first hook this puppy up, you NEED, to power down, then power up your phone or tablet(DEVICE). Every so often, it will disconnect and take you to a screen that gives you a scan code to download an app? When this happens, you need to restart your device. Also, I have noticed that occasionally, it will “freeze” the image when it disconnects. I use mine for a security camera and though everything looks normal, I notice that the security clock has stopped so it’s no longer “LIVE”! There are a number of these Lightning to HDMI converters on the market and they all look the same, probably made by the same manufacturer. I first purchased one that looked identical to the one I now have, but the lightning connector was iffy and would lose connection just by touching the device. I sent it back! This one at least, “snaps” into the socket and is stable. Bottom line…it does what it’s supposed to do, but if you get stressed easily…these adapters are probably not for you. However, if you are okay with spending only 25 bucks, following instructions, and are willing to deal with some occasional hiccups, and restarting your device every now and then…you should be okay with your purchase.

It was tried using a combination of 2 different HDMI cables, an iPhone, an iPad, a projector and 2 different TVs. Both the iPhone and iPad did not register that there was an adapter attached to them (the light blue “adapter” symbol that shows up in the top left hand portion of the screen).

So finicky. We finally got it to connect the phone to the projector by plugging the iphone charger into the wall and into the adapter, along with the HDMI to adapter – adapter to the phone. But it would not play the video and just froze the netflix screen. Terrible, terrible, Terrible quality.
