This device may not be what you looking for.I was using software (Camtasia or Teams build-in) to capture video conference. Camtasia takes 2 min to startup. By the time its Recoder can start, the essential points were passed. For Teams, sometime the video capture function disappear. I want to use this device to capture the conference, *just one button to start recording*.When it connects to higher than 1080, it drop to 30 fps, that is OK. When it connects to 1080, it backs to 60 fps, but I cannot see the 12 pt text in the Terminal (Putty) program. 12 pt is considered normal and big font size, but I cannot see the details. *For graphic, some details are missing.* Since I want to capture my conference calls, this device only captures the HDMI sound, it cannot captures my voice from microphone, USB camera, headset. I need to plugin an external 3.5mm mic to capture my voice. My comment: this is a cheap device to capture 1080p 60fps video game screen, and uses external mic to capture the player voice. Since the screen moving so quick, the details are not that important. The frame rate is OK, I don’t see any frame drop. I will keep this device for other purposes since it is only CAD $150.

Excellent recorder for 720p resolution but poor for 1080pI like this recorder, but as shown in the attached photo, when 1080p video is recorded, the diagonal lines are jagged. 1080p recordings through OBS software on my PC don’t have the jagged diagonal lines. In addition, 1080p video from our camera displayed on a 1080p hdmi monitor has smooth diagonal lines, while the 1080p video on the MYPIN display is jagged just like the recorded video. I have attempted to contact MYPIN by email, but the emails keep bouncing back as undeliverable. To eliminate the jagged lines, I had to reduce the camera output to 720p. Therefore, I only give this device a 1 star for picture quality.

A useful HDMI recorderGood features1. Quite compact and portable (with built in screen and battery)2. Remote control is responsive most of the time3. It accepts exFAT formated SD card (up to 128G)4. Picture quality is good both for record and playback.Need-to-improve features1. The device (recorder) gets hung up quite often, even for simple events like when the micro SD card is filled up or when switching off the computer. When this happened, I had to reset it by sticking a pin into the back of the device. This is a real nuisance, and I am not sure if this process could damage the device if done so often.2. On playing back a recorded movie clip, the fast forward, or the fast backward button only allow for up to 2x speed. After changing back to normal play speed by pressing the OK button, the “2x” wording remains on the screen. It should have disappeared.3. Black lettering on the device buttons is difficult to read. It is better to use white lettering, like on the remote.4. The manual is difficult to read. I would recommend it to be rewritten.5. Default setting should not be set to shut-down after 10 min. Energy saving feature should be normally off. It took me a long while to figure out why the recording keeps stopping after 10 min, and the device became hung.6. Speed of transfer of files from device to PC is rather slow. If USB3 is available, instead of USB2, it will be much better.7. The slot for micro SD card is quite flimsy. The SD card can pop out quite easily when inadvertently pushed. It is better to follow the design of cell phones, using a slide-in tray to hold the micro SD card.8. The remote control is largely ok, but when changing from record mode to playback mode (or vice versa), it is quite slow (5 to 10 sec). For color coding, I think it is better to use red color for the “record/stop record” button, and a different color for the “on/off” button.9. Price is somewhat expensive.

Great content recorderThis is a great product, and for the price its a steal, easy to use and i can take screenshots while im recording. Only 1 issue the hdmi connection is not passthrough meaning if the device isnt on neither is its connection to the tv or output screen this device must be on to use whatever device you are using if you want to see it on an external tv or monitor.

No driversThe recorder itself worked fine; there are zero drivers for this thing. It claims no drivers are needed for the computer to recognize it as a capture device, but my Win7 Asus G75 system absolutely refused to recognize it. It didn’t even make the ‘USB connected’ noise. I tore my hair out for a week trying to figure it out (I’m pretty techy) and then just gave up. They have no website, no contact, nothing. If your computer doesn’t happen to recognize it out of the box, you’re SOL. Returned both units. Too bad, as I would have kept them if the computer could see them.

Sturdier than it looks, stable and easy to use; remote and lcd screen a bonus.I am very pleased with this little unit.It was designed to meet certain picture quality standard and for the price, (so far) it did a great job.It is very easy to set-up and use and unlike the other capture device (HDML Cloner Box) is more tolerant with the card format type. The screen is very useful while recording, despite its low resolution (do not worry though, the file is recorded in 720p and looks quite allright on big screen)The only thing I found somehow disturbing is the inability to fine control the speaker volume (although the headphones are ok)
