See how it goesSo far so good. 60ft run with minimal lag.Trying it out on a Intra-Oral Dental Camera. My wife’s boss asked if I could make the camera work off the chair delivery. Required me to splice a longer cable for the power-pack.

Works well, no noticeable lag in my testing. This product makes it clear in the listing that this won’t work through a traditional network, and it’s true, this isn’t a networking device it just happens to use Ethernet cables in a non-standard way to pass data. Don’t buy this expecting to plug it into a switch or router and get access to the USB devices somewhere else on your network, the cable needs to be dedicated ONLY to the two boxes contained in this kit. Quality of the hardware inside is good, if unexciting looking – the boxes themselves are cased in metal, and the power supply it comes with is a good quality UL certified model so that was nice to see.I did not test this with a length of cable anywhere close to the maximum length supposedly supported, and used high quality CAT6a shielded cable. My results were good, it “just worked” and I didn’t notice any kind of latency that I’d find troubling. Of course with these things there are a lot of variables like cable quality, how the cable is run and the kinds of interference sources it passes on the way – but on a basic level the extender does what it promises.

Excellent, didn’t know these existed…Received for unbiased review…I was looking for a while for an extra long USB cable because my Canon Perfection flat bed scanner had to be placed on the opposite side of the room from my computer. I saw this come up and decided to try it out. Not only did it work right away, but you can add several other devices on the opposite side of the room from you. I tried it with a web cam as well. Everything worked great. Now I can set up a web cam over my drafting/art table and also scan my drawings. Note: I have it connected to my USB 3.0 hub, but it is a USB 2.0 device. The boxes are metal and very weighty. The only thing they need are rubber feet to keep them from sliding. The device comes with a universal power adapter with several different interchangeable plugs. it also comes with a single USB-A to USB-A cable (for USB2.0). You will need to supply the Ethernet cable (I’m using a 25 foot cable). This will be very useful for my setup.

It Works – Good way to extend USB over CAT 5I’m using this USB extender to connect a keyboard and mouse in our kitchen to a computer in the basement utility room over Cat5.The extender works well for both keyboard and mouse. There is occasionally very slight lag sometimes when typing or moving the mouse but it’s not a deal breaker for me.One thing you do need to know about this extender is that it requires an external power supply and is not POE or Powered off the USB Port by itself. Again this was no problem for my application.Overall I’m very happy with this extender, it works well over Cat5 cable at a distance of about 50 feet. I would recommend it and I would buy it again if needed.
